Coming Off Meds!

Coming Off Meds!

Lots of good news. So several weeks ago, I was asked to cross-train for admin because someone is retiring and the other girl needs help with overflow and while she is on vacation. So I started training last week and this week. And today we are training for a big software update on our systems, which will change how to help customers.
I am at my new lowest weight of 161.2 lbs. It is slow going but the last 2 weeks I have lost a total of 8.5 inches overall. So that I suppose is good. I try to exercise everyday.
The good news: I went to see my psychiatrist yesterday and told him everything, I told him that I don’t think the meds are doing anything and then he said it is like an insurance policy. But eventually he said, “I don’t recommend it, but we can try to reduce it 250 mg every 2 weeks and then try without meds” and he then scheduled my appointment for 6-8 weeks from now (instead of 3 months). So I guess that is what we are doing! So this is good news.
But I sort of have mixed feelings about it. I am worried about the withdrawal effects of not taking any more meds, and I am worried about relapse. But he assured me that he will follow me more closely and see how I do. He said most people with bipolar will have relapse without meds. He said I had it more than once before. And I said that it was just once. Anyway, we will see if this will work.
So I am going to track my symptoms everyday and forward it to my husband on Saturday or Sunday so he can track my symptoms as well and that way I can be accountable and he can keep track of how I am doing. I also have an appointment with EPI in 3 weeks.
I just hope that I don’t relapse. I am going to talk to my priest and let him know of my struggles and that I will be attempting to reduce and/or eliminate meds. My friend told me to pray about. The internet mentioned I should check my intentions. I did tell my psychatrist that I want to live a long life. And this would be better if I have no meds and decide to have kids. And it will help me lose weight, increase libido, and help my menstrual cycle. Any who, I will make my symptoms excel sheet now.
